Representative Thomas Massie stands firm on his efforts to release Jeffrey Epstein files as a super PAC raises $2 million to defeat him in the upcoming midterm elections.
Super PAC Targets Kentucky Congressman
The MAGA KY super PAC collected $2 million between June 19 and 30 last year, according to Federal Election Committee filings. Hedge fund owner Paul Singer contributed $1 million, while John Paulson donated $250,000. Massie claims these donors target him because of his bipartisan work pushing for Epstein file releases. The Kentucky Republican alleges Paulson appears in Epstein’s contact log, known as the “black book.”
wrote on social media Saturday that he faces unfair targeting for his transparency efforts. “It was not a hoax; I cannot be bullied; I am not done, and this is why those in power are doing everything in their power to defeat me,” he stated. Within hours of the latest file release, the super PAC purchased $800,000 in television advertisements against him.
Epstein Files Released After Congressional Action
Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act through Massie’s efforts and those of other House members, taking effect on November 19. The legislation required the Justice Department to release all investigation files related to Epstein, with privacy protections for victims. The Department released 3 million additional documents, missing Congress’s December 19 deadline. Attorney General Pam Bondi cited the massive document volume as requiring extended review time.
Massie faces Trump-endorsed challenger Ed Gallrein, a retired Navy SEAL officer, in the Republican primary. Trump called Gallrein “A WINNER WHO WILL NOT LET KENTUCKY DOWN” while labeling Massie a “Third Rate Congressman.” Massie attributes the criticism to his refusal to support foreign aid, deficit spending, and military interventions. He encourages voters to examine their representatives’ positions on Epstein file transparency before the midterm elections.
