A Utah teenager who disappeared from her family home more than a year and a half ago has been recovered safely in Oregon, bringing an end to a nationwide search that involved multiple law enforcement agencies across state lines and international borders.

Kylie Arellano, now 17 years old, vanished from her Garden City, Utah residence on May 29, 2025, when she was just 15. Oregon law enforcement officers located and recovered the teen on Sunday in coordination with the FBI’s Salt Lake City field office and the Rich County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities found Kylie with a 39-year-old man who was taken into custody without incident during the operation.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that local police in Oregon brought the missing minor to safety after acting on information provided by the FBI Salt Lake City Field Office. The successful recovery involved cooperation among multiple agencies including Oregon State Police, the FBI’s Portland field office, and the Utah Department of Public Safety.
